MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is searching for the man they say is responsible for shooting at a South Memphis gas station employee on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, officers responded to the shooting at the Exxon located at 2231 South Third Street just after 7:30 a.m.

Police say a man walked into the business and began arguing with an employee. He left the store and met a woman beside a white Nissan.

The woman allegedly handed the man an object, and the man went back inside the store and fired multiple shots at the employee.

The man ran from the store and got into the white Nissan sedan. He and the woman fled the scene, going south on Third Street.

Police say the employee was not injured in the shooting, but the business was damaged.

Reports say officers were advised that the same man came to the store on May 2 around 7:45 a.m. and pointed a gun at the same employee over a disagreement about the price of merchandise.

At the time of the incident, he wore a ballcap, a white tank top, and shorts.
