OVERALL

Terrion Arnold is a versatile defensive back with long arms and a very good frame. He was originally recruited as a safety before making the change to cornerback at Alabama. Arnold has the speed and movement skills to excel in coverage, combined with the physicality and instincts to show up against the run.

Arnold is a versatile defender in coverage, showing the ability to play from press and off coverage. While in press, he shows the patience at the line of scrimmage and uses his hands well to control receivers, combined with the footwork and lateral movement to quickly get in receivers' hip pocket. He has fluid hips to flip and run, combined with the ability to sink his hips and drive out of breaks. When in off coverage, he plays with high pad level at times leading to slower transitions.

When working downfield, Arnold does a great job of showing his speed to stay in phase and carry receivers deep. When playing the ball in the air, he has the patience and calmness to either face-guard or get his head around to locate the ball. When he's able to locate it, Arnold does a great job of playing the ball, as evidenced by his 12 pass breakups this season.

As a run defender, Arnold does a great job of playing his positions. He has the versatility to play from the outside and slot positions. Quick to trigger, he does a great job of beating blocks with speed and closing ground close to the line of scrimmage. He also can get into the backfield to disrupt plays on blitzes.

Arnold shows the physicality and desire necessary to play the run, but he can be inconsistent with his tackling in space at times. He often opts to dive at ball-carriers instead of bringing his feet and wrapping up.

Ultimately, Arnold is the top cornerback in this year's draft. A complete and well-rounded defender, there isn't much he can't do. Arnold performs best when in press man, but he has the versatility to play from off coverage and in zone, with the added versatility of playing from the slot. He has the talent to be a Day 1 pick in the draft and figures to play earlier than later in his career.
