Man dead, two passengers critical after crash down embankment near Cooyar in Queensland

A man has died and two people are fighting for their lives after their car went down a gully north of Toowoomba.

The 72-year-old Kingaroy man was killed when he drove the Mitsubishi Eclipse off Kingaroy Cooyar Rd and down an embankment at Neumgna, near Cooyar, about 8.30am on Wednesday.

His passengers — a 68-year-old Kingaroy woman and a 43-year-old Highgate Hill man — suffered significant injuries.

They were flown to hospital in a critical condition.
