Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday arrived in France on a state visit hosted by Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders are expected to hold some "very difficult discussions behind closed doors" amid growing tensions between Europe and China over trade imbalances and the Ukraine war, FRANCE 24's Yena Lee said, adding that "Xi Jinping’s visit to France comes as the EU-China relationship enters a new, far more rockier and potentially more confrontational era”.
