Vessel with Russian fertilizers for Malawi to depart in 48 hours — UN

The ship carrying Russian fertilizers blocked in Europe’s warehouses due to EU sanctions was to sail to Africa from the Netherlands on November 21

UNITED NATIONS, November 28. /TASS/. The vessel with Russian fertilizers on board for Malawi is expected to depart in coming 48 hours, Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said at a briefing on Monday.

"We expect movement in the next 48 hours or so, broadly. As soon as there is actual movement we will confirm it," Dujarric said.

The ship carrying Russian fertilizers blocked in Europe’s warehouses due to EU sanctions was to sail to Africa from the Netherlands on November 21. Russian fertilizes will be carried by sea to Mozambique and then delivered by land transport to Malawi. Departure of the vessel was delayed due to poor weather, as reported earlier.
