A body has been found in the search for a 16-year-old boy missing in waters off Far North Queensland.
A desperate search for the boy was launched on Thursday morning after two teenagers tried to swim to shore from a broken down dinghy in waters off Saibai Island.
A 13-year-old boy made it back to shore, but the 16-year-old boy was reported missing.

Thursday Island Water Police began a search and rescue with support from general duties crews.
A body was located on Saibai Island later that afternoon.
The body has not yet been formally identified.
“Formal identification process is underway to confirm the identity of the body,” police said.
Investigations are ongoing.
