Morning sports update: Tom Brady is still motivated by a harsh scouting report from 2000

On Tuesday, the Celtics face the Clippers at 7:30 p.m.
The Bruins are back on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. matchup against the Capitals.
Tom Brady’s motivation: Even though he’s now 43 years old and has seven Super Bowl wins, Tom Brady is still drawing motivation from the 2000 draft.
Though he was far from an unknown quantity, NFL teams were skeptical of Brady’s potential at the pro level. When the Patriots picked the former Michigan starter in the sixth round, he went on to become the greatest value pick in NFL draft history.
In a recent tweet, Brady referenced how he still cares about his draft history.

In the video, late NFL films host Steve Sabol is reading the pre-draft scouting report of Brady to Brady himself.
“Tom Brady: poor build, skinny, lacks great physical stature and strength and gets knocked down easily,” Sabol said.
After more than two decades of dominance, Brady has gone far beyond simply disproving the report’s analysis. He remains the best example of why quarterback scouting in the draft is an imperfect discipline.
