Danish cyclist tops general classification in time of 14 hours, 33 minutes, 55 seconds to win 'turquoise jersey'

MUGLA, Türkiye 

Danish rider Tobias Andresen from the Dsm-Firmenich PostNL team won the fourth stage of the 2024 Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye (TUR 2024) on Wednesday. 

Andresen, who increased his pace in the final meters, won the 137.9-kilometer stage between Marmaris and Bodrum in a time of 3 hours, 29 minutes, 42 seconds, ahead of Danny van Poppel from Bora-Hansgrohe and Henri Uhlig of Alpecin-Deceuninck.

The 21-year-old also topped the general classification in a time of 14 hours, 33 minutes, 55 seconds and qualified to wear the "turquoise jersey." 

The 177.9-kilometer fifth stage, which will start in front of Bodrum Municipality of Mugla, will be completed at the Marina in Kusadasi, Aydin.

Located in Türkiye's southwest, Bodrum is the country's popular resort town. 

The Tour of Türkiye will end Sunday in Istanbul.
