Jan. 6 committee subpoenas phone records of Eric Trump, Kimberly Guilfoyle

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot subpoenaed and obtained phone logs connected to Eric Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, a report said.

The subpoenas were served to communication companies and not directly to Trump and Guilfoyle as part of a larger demand from the committee for the phone records of dozens of people associated with former President Donald Trump, CNN reported on Tuesday.

The data shared include logs of all incoming and outgoing calls and text messages, although the content of the texts isn’t included, sources told the cable news station. Cellphones associated with Eric Trump and Guilfoyle were turned over by companies, sources said.

It did not appear the committee directly subpoenaed Eric Trump, Guilfoyle, the 45th president’s other children, or his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, CNN noted. Committee members didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment from The Post on Tuesday evening.

Both Eric Trump and Guilfoyle had spoken at the rally at the Ellipse before the pro-Trump crowd marched to the Capitol and stormed the building in an effort to dispute the certification of the 2020 presidential election, in which Democrat Joe Biden emerged as the victor.

The phone logs are reportedly the first time the Jan. 6 committee has issued subpoenas directly related to the former president’s family, whose legal team has been disputing access to records on the basis they should be protected by executive privilege, according to CNN.

The committee announced earlier Tuesday that it had subpoenaed Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, and others as it continues to probe the riot. The committee said Giuliani, Trump campaign attorneys Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis as well as adviser Boris Epshteyn “advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former President about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes.”
