40 Kitchen Products That'll Make You ~Fall~ In Love With Cooking And Baking This Season

That apple crisp isn't gonna make itself. 🍎

    1. A pair of extra-long oven mitts, because as someone who used to bake for a living, take it from me: Your wrists and forearms are the most vulnerable when it comes to kitchen burns, so it's wise to keep that area as covered up as possible! Plus, a little extra protection will boost your confidence when it comes to taking piping hot lasagnas and casseroles in and out of the oven.

Promising review: "There is nothing to dislike about these oven mitts. They arrived quickly and I use them every day. I've baked cookies and bread and roasted meat and veggies without a single burn, which is a first for me. These long mitts protect way up on my arms and they are very flexible...no more pans slipping out of my hands because of padded cotton mitts that are too bulky to allow for a good grip. I will never use anything but these mitts, and I'm buying some for my daughter as well!" —Georgia grandma

Get it from Amazon for $14.18+ (available in six colors, as well as a slightly smaller size).

    2. A handheld milk frother you need in your cart if enjoying PSLs and other foamy beverages at home sounds like...just the greatest thing ever. No, you don't need a fancy espresso machine or sky-high Starbucks budget.

Reviewer using the frother to frother milk in a cup
reviewer photo of a foamy drink next to the milk frother

Promising review: "Best frother that I've ever used...very comfortable to use and powerful, too. Got this to replace another branded one that zonked out on me after only a couple of months. Love love this frother. I use it to 'blend' my morning coffee with coconut oil. This frother is more powerful than my last. The stand is a nice little bonus to keep the frother off the table and from rolling off the counter. The handle is very comfortable to hold. The back (if the label is facing you), has an index finger rest. I highly recommend this frother." —N Duong

Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in 43 styles).

    3. Plus, a bottle of pumpkin pie sauce to top off all of your cozy drink creations Ă  la a professional barista. Don't forget the whipped cream!

Promising review: "I was hesitant to buy this but I'm so glad I did. I've been trying to stay away from Starbucks but with PSL season approaching didn't know if I could hold out. THIS SAUCE IS AMAZING. It's a good consistency, so it's easy to stir and even good to put on top on the froth as a topping. Great pumpkin flavor and smells amazing. Although it's a bit pricey, it will save me money in the long run from the $5 a cup I'd spend in the drive-thru." —Lnw2220

    4. A lovely macrame produce hammock for storing all of those apples you picked so they won't take up every square inch of your counter. Voilà, more room for prep!

Promising review: "I hated having a pile of fruit on my countertops. Bowls and baskets were always too big or small and taking up precious counter space. This is the perfect, cute and functional solution! I was able to screw in the hooks by hand — quick and easy installation." —Taylormschulte

Get it from Knapp's Knots on Etsy for $27.90+ (available in two sizes and 12 colors).

    5. A large Cuisinart food processor designed with people who like the idea of cooking but detest the thought of prep in mind. Luckily, this workhorse takes allll the work out of dicing and slicing, so you can enjoy your sweet potato gratin without breaking a sweat.

Promising review: "I LOVE this food processor! I've looked for months, asked friends for recommendations, and read countless reviews. I decided on this model and it is SO easy and fun to use. Cleans up in a flash as well. Next to the Vitamix, this food processor is the "other" star in my kitchen. No idea how I cooked without one for so long!" —AM

    6. Or if you're short on space, a downright magical veggie chopper that'll surely become your new BFF once you realize that by owning it, you'll finally be relieved of your least favorite kitchen task forever. It'll cut down on roasted vegetable prep time by a ton, and if you're an onion crier like me, well, no more standing over a cutting board with stinging eyes.

Model pressing down on top to cut an onion

Promising review: "Best chopper I've used! It's super sturdy, cutting onions especially is super easy, even though they have a really hard and waxy skin. My Vidalia chopper failed in less than five uses. And it took so much strength and pressure from me to chop the onions. The blades were blunt. This chopper is the answer to my prayers. The blades are super sharp, and because of this, they have safety features too! Everything can come apart easily, and put back together. So putting it in the dishwasher takes no effort!" —SummerBreeze

    7. An 11-in-1 Instant Pot with a special air fryer lid, because if spending hours waiting for your stew to cook seems a bit ~much,~ this will save a ton of time. Plus, what other appliance also lets you air fry cider doughnuts for dessert?

reviewer photo of a creamy pasta dish made in the instant pot

It's got air frying, roasting, baking, dehydrating, pressure cooking, slow cooking — *takes breath* — steaming, sautĂ©eing, sterilizing, warming, rice cooking, and yogurt making functions!

Promising review: "This has changed my life! The air fryer is SO MUCH more efficient than my old air fryer. I was able to get rid of my rice cooker, crock pot, and air fryer. The Sous Vide mode is a game changer in making perfect medium rare meats. You can throw meat in there frozen and it comes out super tender and never dry. Just BUY IT!!!!" —susie v clewellclancy

Another promising review: "What else can you say about this product? It will replace three appliances that I use on a regular basis — rice cooker, air fryer, and pressure cooker. That's important to me because at this point kitchen space is at a premium. The packaging is great, the instructions are very clear and well written and it works very well. The first use was to make chicken bone broth using the pressure cooker feature. It worked flawlessly. Two-hour cook time. It takes 10 minutes prep, 30 minutes to cool off. Three hours later I had homemade bone broth in the refrigerator. And the whole house didn't smell for 24 hours like it would with an open pot method. Anyway, the instant pot is a huge kitchen innovation IMO. Just get one, and use it." —Josh Brainard

Get it from Amazon for $186.42.

    8. A pair of cut-resistant gloves in case you're someone who thinks the scariest part of Halloween is getting nicked while carving pumpkins. These will protect those precious fingies so you can chop up everything from meats to veggies with confidence.

Model wearing grey gloves while cooking meat
    Amazon

Promising review: "I bought the gloves because I had two nasty cuts in quick succession from a cheese grater. Anyone who has had injuries to their fingers knows how difficult it is to continue to do everyday activities and meal preparation while still protecting your wound. I received the gloves quickly after my order and pressed them into use immediately that evening. I am most impressed. My fingers/hands were protected from my very sharp grater and knife while I prepared dinner. I bought two pairs, one to keep and one to give as a gift. I am now going to buy a third pair in a larger size for a friend who also likes to cook but suffers from occasional run-ins with mandolines, graters, and knives. Great product!" —O'Hare

    Britt Ross / BuzzFeed, www.amazon.com

I've had my Lodge skillet for maybe seven years now, and I love it just as much today as the first day I got it. Nothing — and I mean NOTHING — is better when it comes to achieving the perfect golden brown pancake, crackly-skinned fish, and crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside baked pasta (see photo above!). Contrary to popular belief, it's incredibly easy to care for, and as long as you don't let it rust it'll last you FOR-EV-ER. I'm already planning on baking some cornbread in it for Thanksgiving!

Promising review: "Best pan I've ever had. I can’t believe I just found this gem! I have been using nonstick pans for years and decided to try something with less chemical on it. This Lodge cast-iron skillet looks like it will last for centuries! It can easily go from stove to oven, even to my outdoor grill. The seasoning part seemed daunting at first, but once a nice protective layer is built up, cleaning just means an easy rinse with water and drying with heat." —Amazonian

Just drag the slider to your desired amount to get the correct measurement — no more digging around in search of multiple spoons every time you wanna make some pumpkin bread.

Promising review: "I really like that I can use just one tool to measure whatever I need by adjusting the spoon size. I cook and bake frequently and this has been so convenient to use. I no longer have to worry about finding a specific spoon size and this takes up less room, which is key since I have limited storage space." —Amber O

Get it from Amazon for $9.50.

    12. A foolproof corer, because the thought of making an apple crisp is all well and good until you remember, "Oh, right, I actually hate prepping apples." With this, you won't only save time; you'll also save your fingers from potential knife mishaps!

GIF of reviewer using the corer to remove the core from an apple

It's so much more efficient than using a knife, and once you've removed the core, the blades open up for simple disposal.

Promising review: "This thing is great. Very sturdy. Works amazingly well. I bought this because I had 1 1/2 bushels of apples I needed to core to make apple butter. Did the job in no time at all with this gadget. Much less waste than cutting around the core and in more than 99% of the apples, it removed the entire core and seeds without me having to do touch-ups with a paring knife. I highly recommend this tool and will be buying more of them to give as gifts for friends who enjoy the culinary arts." —James Miller

Promising review: "These liners are life changing! I never thought I needed them until a friend raved about them. Cleanup is so simple, no more melted cheese or sauces burnt to the bottom of my ovens. I love that I can cut them down to size to fit my toaster oven. My husband enjoys grilling with the liners now, he doesn't have to line the grill with aluminum foil which he found so annoying, deterring him to grill. This product really has simplified my life in the kitchen and I love it." —Kindle Custommer

Just swap out the inserts to go from one function to another!

BuzzFeed Shopping's Emma Lord says: "I recently purchased this because it was my cheapest option for making zoodles, and also because my apartment is the size of a shoebox and there was no room for anything bigger. I LOVE how easy it is to swap out the caps to do other things, too — I've started grating my own cheeses and feel very fancy. But mostly I just love that it's very safe to use (it comes with a finger guard!), super easy to figure out, very compact, and even has measurements on the inside of the cup if you're ever portioning things out for a recipe."

Promising review: "This is the second spiralizer that I have purchased, and by far the best I have used. It's super easy to use and to clean. My other spiralizer that I had was difficult to clean properly and I want to use they as often as possible so the use and cleaning of the product is very important! Fullstar Vegetable Spiralizer is a great product and I will be purchasing more to give as gifts for the holiday season. I would definitely recommend. A+++ item." —Yvonne I

Don't worry about it teetering over the edge of your counter when you set it to high speeds — it may be pricey, but as a former professional baker, I can confidently say nothing compares when it comes to sheer sturdiness. Promising review: "This mixer will change your life! I went from making French macarons all by hand power to using this standing mixer and I feel like a new baker! This mixer will definitely transform your practice and baking game, everything has become 100% easier! I suggest cleaning each part (three attachments, guard, and bowl) with mild soap and warm water, then clean the bowl with a baking powder paste to remove the gray metal polish that is applied at the factory. I was amazed at how gray the paste turned once I started rubbing it in the bowl. Glad I didn't ruin my first batch of macaron shells. So far the only con is the price, but having the right tools make baking SO much more enjoyable and productive." —Mr. P

I have this pot at home, and the first thing I noticed about it (aside from its pretty looks) was how shockingly light it was (less than five pounds with the lid!). As a 5-foot-tall weakling, I tend to get nervous whenever I have to lift a cast iron Dutch oven more than a few inches, so I was thrilled when I realized I'd be able to make my favorite hearty meals without the risk of dropping a heavy, piping hot cooking vessel. Promising review: "Love it, in particular the color, weight and functionality. Promising review: "I am one of the messiest cooks in the world. When I get done, I usually have scraps around my feet where I have knocked bits of veggies off the counter. I've looked for a long time for something to take care of the problem, but everything seemed like overkill. This container is perfect. It's just the right size. I attach it in front of my belly, and all the stuff that usually hits the floor, goes in the container. Plus, I can wipe the counter into it, empty it in the trash, and pop it in the dishwasher." —Patricia Logos

    24. A Philips compact pasta maker for anyone looking for a fun fall cooking project, minus the whole "rolling out dough by hand" thing. Watching the noodles as they're being extruded is almost as satisfying as eating your butter- and sage-coated creations.

GIF of reviewer slicing pasta that's being extruded through the pasta maker
Reviewer photo of homemade noodles being extruded through the pasta maker and into a bowl

This handy device does all the work for you, so if you're anything like me (a pasta fiend), it'll quickly become the most beloved thing in your kitchen. It comes with shaping discs for spaghetti, fettuccine, penne, pappardelle, tagliatelle, angel hair, and lasagna — mamma mia! Plus, there's an included recipe book for meal inspiration.

Promising review: "I was just as skeptical as you are. I, too, have been doing the old school — make the dough, roll it out, run it through a pasta machine, etc. — method. It's a production, all for AMAZING pasta. With this, you put the ingredients in, push a button, and watch for AMAZING pasta to be extruded. I had hoped I'd be able to multitask a bit more, but it extrudes so fast there isn't much time for other tasks between cutting it. But I think that seems reasonable. The other thing to consider is that you have to be VERY exact with the measurements of the ingredients. I've found weighing them works best. The recipes in the included book work great. Don't use other pasta recipes not developed for this machine unless you are up for some experimentation. The dough will be drier than the traditional method and has to be to feed through the auger and extrude properly. So it also does take a bit longer to cook than traditional fresh pasta, but when it's done it's that same amazing taste and texture!" —Conversio

Get it from Amazon for $178.98.

    25. Or a nonstick microwave pasta cooker to use on nights when you're craving pumpkin ravioli but the thought of having to boil water seems like cruel and unusual punishment. Pop it in, wait 12–13 minutes, and ta-da!

It also doubles as a strainer, and you can use the holes in the lid to portion out long pastas.

Promising review: "I love pasta, but I hate *making* pasta. Too many pots, pans, strainer, cleanup, etc. Forget it. And after a long day at work when I am craving pasta, all I want to do is eat right away. This pasta cooker cooked pasta better than I have ever cooked pasta in my life. I am Italian, so as you can imagine I have eaten (and made myself) a LOT of pasta. This product is a game changer. It was extremely easy to use, cooked quickly, and it came out PERFECTLY. Not over cooked, a little al dente, but not firm. Perfection. Now I have no excuse not to cook pasta for myself (and my husband) practically every day. BUY THIS. It will change your life." —Hope Lanza

    26. An adjustable rolling pin for when the apple pie recipe says, "roll out dough a quarter of an inch thick" and you really don't wanna bust out a tape measure. This set comes with four sizes of removable rings you can screw on depending on how thin or thick you want your dough, and there are measurement markings on the roller itself so you can easily gauge the length and width of your dough as well.

Model using the adjustable rolling pin to roll out dough on top of a baking mat
    Amazon

It also comes with a nonstick baking mat!

Promising review: "I have spent a lifetime avoiding recipes that need a rolling pin because I could never get the hang of them. Too heavy, or everything stuck to them, or never got the right thickness. But I wanted to make some doggie cookies and decided to give it another shot. I LOVE this one. The thickness guides are just what this amateur needs. A good weight, easy to roll, easy to clean. And the mat is perfect. It doesn’t slide, it has great guides, and it cleans up easily. Don't forget the AA batteries!

Promising review: "Life changing!!! I open dog food cans daily and pumpkin cans to mix with the dog food. My old hands couldn’t take it anymore! This little gadget does it ALL! Set it on top of the can, push the button, and walk away!! AND! NO SHARP EDGES!!" —Tammy Richardson

Another promising review: "Such an easy way to open cans. This will reduce my cooking time! I would shy away from cans at grocery stores because I had such a hard time using my mechanical can opener. They were risky and left sharp edges that could hurt anyone. This can opener is a godsend. It comes with an instruction manual that clearly shows how to use it. It's super simple. I got it out of the box, inserted four AA batteries, and it was good to go. This is very user-friendly, no sharp edges, and gives a clean cut. I love love love it. To everyone who is thinking about getting one, it's a little more expensive than the manual ones, but well worth it. It will save your hands!" —liberty

Promising review: "I like to make my own salad dressings and marinades but lately, the flavor has been off and bitter-tasting. I decided to try Brightland's products after reading rave reviews. I am a convert. The oil and vinegars are smooth, bright, and not at all bitter. I have reordered three times now and am about to place another order. The products are not inexpensive but they are top quality. To me, it is worth the splurge for delicious ingredients that are used every week." —Deborah B.

    31. A granite mortar and pestle set, because your delicious homemade chai deserves freshly ground spices. And it's so pretty, too!

It's made of unpolished granite for better friction!

Promising review: "A mortar and pestle has been on my wish list for countless birthdays and holidays. This year I gifted them to myself, and I wish I’d done so long ago. I harvested my basil and made the best pesto to date, and my friends and family asked me for the secret as they actually noticed the difference. The taste and texture are well worth the extra work using a mortar and pestle in place of a blender. I use it for processing dried herbs, making rubs, spreads, and pesto other than traditional basil pesto. I find the mortar and pestle a joy to use and enjoy reaping the tasty rewards." —Sommer Thyme

    33. A pair of Nordic Ware half-sheet trays, because any avid home cook/baker will tell you there's no such thing as having too many of these bad boys, whether you're roasting carrots and squash or making a batch of gingersnaps.

Reviewer photo of powdered sugar-covered cookies on the sheet tray
Reviewer photo of pizza made in the sheet tray

I own these trays and can't even begin to count the number of cookies I've baked nor the amount of vegetables I've roasted on them. They're just perfect, everyday sheet trays that will fit more than enough food for a crowd while still fitting inside the average home cook/baker's oven. I always wash them by hand to prevent warping, and sure, with time, they won't look as brand spankin' new as they did when they were purchased. But, like my most beloved, sauce-splattered cookbooks, I truly believe the sign of a great kitchen product is a bit of wear that shows how often it's reached for. And at less than 30 bucks for a set of two, they're an unbeatable steal.

Promising review: "These are the best baking sheets I've ever used. Midway through my childhood we stumbled upon Nordic Ware and these were a staple growing up. They heat evenly, release cleanly, clean well, and last forever. The improvement over cheaper sheets was always apparent at holidays when we would try to use my grandparents' sheets, which were terrible. My wife and I just upgraded the sheets she had when we married, and already everyone loves them." —Terence Wise

You can also use them to evenly portion cupcake batter.

Promising review: "I really like Oxo products and have many of them. The quality is always right up there. I have both the small and medium cookie scoops. The small one is the one I use most, but I like the medium-sized one if I'm giving cookies away as gifts or want to take them to social gatherings. It just makes a generous cookie for giving. I prefer the smaller scoop when making cookies just for my husband and I. I like the fact that these scoops make cookies uniform in shape and size. Prior to buying these scoops, I just used a spoon and my cookies were anything but uniform! The dough slides out of the scoops very easily and keeps my fingers clean." —Rosebud

It's made by small biz Talisman Designs, which creates helpful products to make cooking at home a little easier. Store it on your counter or in the fridge, or even freeze it to easily pop out the solidified grease.

Promising review: "This thing is awesome. Big enough to hold plenty of grease without taking up a ton of space. I keep mine in the butter compartment of my fridge next to the butter. I poured the grease right from the pan, still very hot right into it and popped the lid on and put it in the fridge. Next time I needed some grease I scooped some out with a spoon, no muss no fuss. Much better than the glass jar I was using. My only warning is if you get it out when people are visiting keep an eye on it. It's so cute and so good at its job everyone will want one. This is an awesome gift idea. The little box it comes in is so cute with it's little piggie face sticking out. Anyone who cooks with grease will love this." —John Dollard

same reviewer's pie, now baked and with a golden brown, not burnt crust

It adjusts to fit pies ranging from 8–11.4 inches and is BPA-free!

Promising review: "Can’t live without these. You spend so much time preparing everything to make the perfect pie and then you notice that the crust is getting burnt. Argh. So you grab the aluminum foil and try not to burn your hands as you gingerly place it on the pie. This product is a game changer. It fastens into place to accommodate even little pot pies. You can put it on at the start and take it off near the end to brown the crust. No more burnt crust, I love it. I stick it in the dishwasher and it’s ready for the next pie. Worth the smile you’ll have on your face when you take your masterpiece out of the oven." —Oleh Haluszka

    40. And last but certainly not least, a cushy nonslip kitchen mat your legs will thank you for during your epic autumnal cooking marathons. It provides comfy support and helps improve circulation and posture while you're mincing garlic, washing dishes, and everything in between. Now go prop your feet up and FEAST!

Believe it or not, comfortable kitchen mats can cost way more than you'd think, but this affordable version has thousands of great reviews. It's waterproof, has a nonslip bottom, and is super easy to clean.

Promising review: "For over a year, we've been cooking more meals in our kitchen, and the tile floor is very hard on our legs when you are just standing by the sink washing and prepping foods, not to mention washing dishes, etc. This kitchen mat relieves leg fatigue. So much so, no one is complaining about it anymore. Really such a good value compared to all the other more expensive alternatives. My only advice is when you receive the mat, to put it on a flat surface and weigh the edges down for a day or two, since it has a tendency to curl up after you unpack it. Other than that, it's great." —C. Cruz
