Man arrested after apparent attempted abduction of child in Dublin

It’s understood that gardaí are investigating the case as a potential mental health incident.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man after an alleged attempt to abduct a toddler in Dublin on Thursday.

It’s understood that gardaí are investigating the case as a potential mental health incident. 

The incident happened near the young child’s home on Sheriff Street shortly after 12pm.

A man, aged in his late 20s, was arrested at the scene for an alleged offence under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

He is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin. 

Gardai said they are currently investigating and verifying the details of this incident, and that inquiries are ongoing.
