New Florida coach Billy Napier continues to add to the Gators’ roster via the transfer portal, landing offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence Monday.

Torrence played the past three seasons for Napier at Louisiana and will bring experience and production to an area of need.

The 6-foot-5, 335-pound Torrence announced his decision on Twitter after visiting Gainesville this past weekend.

Torrence appeared in 37 games for Napier’s Ragin’ Cajuns, playing right guard the past two seasons. The Greensburg, Louisiana, product earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2020 and a spot on the first team last season, helping his club to a 22-2 record over the span.

The Gators must replace two starters — right guard Stewart Reese and right tackle Jean Delance — and stabilize a O-line that has underperformed for many years.

Torrence, a senior, is the latest Florida transfer. Auburn, Ole Miss and Clemson were among those pursuing him.

Georgia cornerback Jalen Kimber, a projected starter for the national champion Bulldogs, joined the Gators this past weekend.

Louisiana transfer running back Montrell Johnson and offensive lineman Kamryn Waites, along with former Ohio State backup quarterback Jack Miller, also transferred to Napier’s program.

Alabama wide receiver transfer Javon Baker recently visited Gainesville but still must decide on a new school.
