Season 2 of Euphoria has finally made its way to our screens, and with new episodes each week come more behind-the-scenes posts from our favorite cast members. Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie on the show, recently opened up about her experience portraying a pregnant version of her character. In case you missed it, Nate had fantasies about marrying and starting a family with Cassie as he was recovering in the hospital from his intense fight with Fez.
Sydney posted all about the preparation that went into creating Cassie’s pregnant belly for episode 2 on Instagram. She shared BTS pics on her feed, where she posed with her costars Angus Cloud and Jacob Elordi.
Sydney also snapped some pics in the baby bump (which was all prosthetics, BTW). “This belly was insane,” the 24-year-old star wrote alongside the first of many photos on her Instagram Stories.
With photos and videos, she gave fans a glimpse into how the bump was cast onto her torso and made to look realistic. “First layer of goop. Had to be very still,” she wrote alongside a clip of an artist applying blue paste down her arm. “They basically paper macheted [sic] me,” she added with a photo where the cast was molded directly to her body. Sydney revealed that a team of makeup artists made the belly out of her body’s mold, glued it to her body, and painted it to perfectly match her skin tone.
I know there’s a ton of unexpected drama and plot twists on Euphoria, but seeing Cassie pregnant was *not* on my bingo card after the season 1 finale (if you know, you know).
