  1. Goodbye!

    Jordan Pickford celebrates

That's us all done on another night full of drama, goals and controversy in the Premier League.

    It finished:

Be sure to keep up with all the latest football news on our dedicated page.

And we'll see you again tomorrow at 20:00 BST for Brighton against Manchester City. Take care!

  2. 'We are not safe in the Champions League'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Nothing more to say about this tonight, we conceded two goals from set pieces and we know it is one of their strengths. The second one is a routine they use all season. It makes no sense. I thought we found a way into the game and pushed them back, created massive chances and didn't use one of them. We conceded a second goal then and we lost momentum. We couldn't turn it around, it just wasn't good enough. That is the truth."

On lack of goals: "I'm responsible for that and I know that, I feel that. I've never been able to put the ball over the line in my life. I'm not angry about that. It's crazy the amount of chances we have created in the last four games. There's room for improvement."

On title race: "I don't know about Everton's achievement, I thought they would be safe after that but Sean Dyche knows them better. We need them to lose games and historically they don't do that. Arsenal didn't look very weak last night. We have to play better, that is it. We need points. We are not safe in the Champions League. Tottenham have played a lot of games less than us."

  3. 'To give the people that is pleasing'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Everton

Everton boos Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Match of the Day : "Tricky game against top opposition, but to give the people that is pleasing for all of us.

"They care and we care, we made that clear as a collective.

"A clean sheet and some big saves from Jordan Pickford, but we created enough chances ourselves. But, there was energy and the commitment to the cause.

"I thought the general performance was very good.

"I don't understand the depth of this derby as I am not from round here, but I am learning quickly."

On Everton's fans: "Their [Everton's fans] voice was incredible so we are very pleased with that.

"They have been brilliant we got heavily questioned after the Chelsea [result] and rightly so. We wanted to keep pointing in the right direction and they have stood by us again tonight.

"It is a long journey here, but that is a very pleasing moment of the recent ups-and-downs here."

On being safe: "To be honest it is a difficult one, you couldn't believe some of the performances we didn't win [earlier in the season]. You have to find a way to win."

  4. 'We want to keep adding points'

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we really deserved the win.

"We were really good for 60 or 65 minutes. From there it became about refereeing decisions, we finished with 10-men but managed to finish the job.

"We pressed really well. We played a lot of time in their half and got into dangerous positions but we were always thinking we need a second goal.

"After the red card we had to concede more space and become more compact to win the game in the end.

On whether VAR was right to rule out Hwang Hee-chan's goal: "I think it was a foul on [Justin] Kluivert. The foul prevents him from being involved in the defensive play."

On the sending off for Milos Kerkez: "I have complaints.

"I don't think it's fair a player can miss three games because of this. I think it's a yellow card.

"It's just one foot and he bends the knees at the end to try and stop. I think the club is going to appeal this."

On trying to build momentum in the final weeks of the season: "We have 45 points. We want to keep adding points.

"We have some difficult games to end the season, we have Brighton waiting at the weekend and we know they are always difficult to play."

  5. 'Klopp is an absolute legend'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

Liverpool's relationship with the manager is different to any of the top six in this country.

Give this man a send off, his [Jurgen Klopp] legacy is there and he is an absolute legend.

Maybe the league has gone, but run your heart out.

  6. 'One we have to accept'

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

    Wolves

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to Sky Sports on the topic of VAR after they had two goals ruled out: "I've got no view on it at all. I'm not interested in discussing any decision or VAR interventions."

On tonight's performance: "It's probably our worst one of the season, especially in the first half.

"People were misplacing passes and losing duels every time they went long.

"It led to a terrible first half performance that put us in a tricky spot. We gave it a go in the second half with the subs that came on.

"I don't want to make excuses for them regardless of how tired we are. It was a big effort against Arsenal at the weekend but Bournemouth were at Aston Villa the day after.

"There was nothing technical or tactical about it. When they went long [Antoine] Semenyo and [Dominic] Solanke were able to get to it.

"It's one that we have to accept and we have to get back to work to make sure we do better. We want to get players back.

"Hwang [Hee-chan] did well to play 90 minutes tonight but doesn't look like himself yet. [Matheus] Cunha obviously isn't fully fit but gave us something from the bench.

"The injury situation has caused us problems but we added to that with the performance levels."

When asked again about VAR: "I've spent so much time this season answering questions that make me look like I have an issues with every decision.

"I'll leave others to talk about it now."

  7. 'I didn't expect that'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

    .

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm very disappointed. We let it happen exactly the game that Everton wanted. Two goals from set pieces. They are really strong. We created a lot and didn't score. We were in a rush, not really clear enough. They scored the second goal with the routine they do all season. They had free kick after free kick, but we weren't good enough."

On poor form: "I didn't expect that today but it happened. It's not the greatest moment we are in but we have to play so we have to fight through. We had that after the Fulham game but the two strikers who were in form, one is now injured and one is now hopefully a father. The game was alwasy interrupted by free kicks for them and they go long. It's tricky to defend."

On losing: "It's not the first time that will happen in a football game against passionate, fighting opponents. Harvery [Elliott] came on and had a direct impact. In the end, it's just not good enough. We all know the situations were we pretty much shot at [Jordan] Pickford or shot over the goal. We had moments to turn it around but we didn't use them so it is really tricky."

On title race: "They must come in a very bad moment. I don't know. I can only apologise for today to the people. We should have done better and we didn't and that's why we lost."

  8. Bournemouth 'will appeal' Kerkez red

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I'm very happy with the performance. The three points are very welcome.

"We were very good for 60 or 65 minutes but then it was difficult when we got the red card. We couldn't keep pressing high.

"I think everyone was thinking about the Aston Villa game [on Sunday] when we had chances to score a second and didn't. We thought it could be the same tonight.

"When we didn't score the second we had to defend compact.

"We were lucky in the 100th minute that the goal was ruled out for offside."

On whether VAR was right to rule out Hwang Hee-Chan's goal: "I think it's a clear foul to Justin [Kluivert].

"It doesn't allow him to defend the cross where the goal comes from. It would be more controversial if he isn't part of the equation but he was part of the play."

On whether it was right to send off Milos Kerkez: "I think it's a yellow card. I think he will be punished for three games.

"He goes with one leg and bends his knee to avoid damaging the player.

"We will appeal because I don't feel the punishment is right."

On trying to achieve a club-record points tally in the Premier League: "We are looking forward to getting the points. We know we have difficult games.

"Two points doesn't seem much but it is. We have to be very good to beat Brighton [on Sunday] and I hope we arrive well."

  9. Post update

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth were in the relegation zone after failing to win their first nine league games under Andoni Iraola.

Tonight, they're 10th and in with a shout of a top-eight finish after a sixth away win of the season.

    Terrific turnaround.

  10. 'Worst performance of season'

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

    Wolves

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Probably our worst performance, really poor.

"Individually too many were below the level that we've reached in the league this year. Collectively we need to make sure this is not our level. We need to go home and look at what we produced and get back to the level we've been at before.

"We were flat with loads of unforced errors, losing every duel, losing too many balls and turning the ball over so often. The way we want to play, you have to look after the ball better.

"I thought the subs had a good impact and we improved to give it a go in the second half, that was a small positive."

On VAR's decision to disallow Hwang Hee-chan's goal: "I'm not discussing the decision and officials any more. I'm not interested in discussing referees and VAR now.

On trying to end the season strongly: "We need to get players back. You saw when [Matheus] Cunha came on he looked good.

"We need important players to step up and perform. We've been in a tough spot and performances have been good up to this evening. It's probably our worst performance of the season.

On whether VAR needs to be discussed at the end of the season: "It is a big topic. I'm sure there will be a lot of people discussing it.

"I've had enough of discussing it though. It's important today that I look at myself and not at anyone else."

SMS Message: I'm actually looking forward to a fresh start. How many sideways and backwards passes tonight? Naive fouls and being outmuscled. We've become so predictable - the Nunez fanfare annoys me. Szoboszlai has done nothing since coming back from injury. Salah the same. Frustrating end to the season! from Jack

  12. 'We can't let our season peter out'

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-0 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "We were disappointing today. Never really got into our best fluent rhythm. Disappointed especially with the first 60 minutes. We were nowhere near where we wanted to be. Disappointed with our technical performance today, we are usually better than that.

On the penalty shout when Longstaff was fouled by Hughes in the box: "The penalty is a 50/50 call, it went against us."

On Callum Wilson coming back from injury: "Callum's return is more than welcome and he gave us a different dimension when he came on today."

"There is a big opportunity for us, we can't let it [our season] peter out and we've got a big chance to quickly bounce back [on Saturday at home to Sheffield United].

  14. 'A fantastic night of football'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Everton

More from Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, speaking BBC Match of the Day: "What a night!

"I thought we stuck to the game-plan and we executed it - we stuck together. The defensive unity built the foundation.

"We built from there [Jarrad Branthwaite's goal] as a collective and fans in the stadium - a fantastic night of football.

"If you can win your duels it stands you in good stead and second balls in the middle of the pitch we allowed them to have possession, but we didn't fear they were going to hurt us.

"That was the biggest thing, hard work and endeavour.

"Football is a funny old game. I went a fair few without scoring but I have scored in the last few.

"We have to keep believing and try your best to stay positive."

On league position: "The reflection on the league is not true, but we have accepted our reality.

"Big three points, the one on Saturday [against Nottingham Forest] was massive and tonight it puts us in a far better position.

"We have to build on that and we have to try put in a performance at the weekend."

  15. 'Out of energy and ideas'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

    .

Liverpool cannot be written off, of course, but they suddenly look like a side out of energy and ideas, with even the normally reliable Mohamed Salah misfiring all night.

It made for a miserable derby farewell for manager Jurgen Klopp, who says it is never easy at Goodison Park - and it has never been tougher than this.

Liverpool are now three points behind leaders Arsenal but the Gunners have a vastly superior goal difference which is like the cushion of an extra point.

  16. 'Fantastic atmosphere at Selhurst'

FT: Crystal Palace 2-0 Newcastle United

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Sport: "All the credit to the players for their performance, their spirit, their togetherness on the pitch. I thought if we played in this style and intensity again, we would have to make 10 changes after 60 minutes! It was a fantastic atmosphere at Selhurst and the fans pushed the players. Second half, the game was tighter but we scored fantastic goals.

On three league wins in a row: "When you win you have a lot of self confidence. I saw an excellent first half against Man City, we could have had a 3-0 lead at Bournemouth. We can see the players are listening, they are really hard working and there is a great spirit in the team. We are on a good pathway but it is just the beginning of our journey. I have to say thank you to the players for trusting us, changing things mid season. Thank you for the trust and now we all get the reward.

On Jean-Philippe Mateta's second goal: "Always nervous when you lead by one. JP is the one who scores, he has a lot of self-confidence and he is working so hard. When you see the first goal, he is the one at the end but we won the ball four. five times before. It's team-work in the opposite half, working so hard together. They deserve all the credit today because they are the guys working so hard and coming together on the pitch."

  17. 'The same old things come back to haunt us'

FT: Man Utd 4-2 Sheffield Utd

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder to BBC Match of the Day: "It's the story of our season. There's been times when we've been well and truly put to bed. But there's been nights like tonight.

"Add it all up. We went toe-to-toe for 80 minutes, we got ourselves in front a couple of times. But it was the same old things that have come back to haunt us, poor defending.

"I've got to say, I'm really disappointed with a couple of the decisions as well. I think the free-kick, I don't know what my centre-half is supposed to do, just walk out the way? He's nutmegged him, but he can't disappear. That said, we've not really defended that situation as well as we should have done.

"I think he's blown early on the penalty. I think it's a really soft penalty if I'm honest about it. There is always contact in the box. It's a really soft one. Now, you might say they scored. But that's got nothing to do with us. He gave a penalty straight away.

"Yet again, it's a mixed bag. A lot of things are pretty good. A lot of times we get pretty close. But we are here, it's another one we've lost.

"The inevitable will happen, we understand that and accept that. We're in a position where we just have pride to play for. We did that and the supporters recognise that.

"There's bodies in there we can build and rebuild around. Going into next season there's a big rebuild on. We, I, have to make sure we get the culture right.

"We've scored two at Old Trafford and we've come away with nothing. That's something that shouldn't be happening. You should be getting something out of the game."

On Ben Brereton Diaz being a star player for the Blades: "Absolutely spot on, I did my homework on him and knew what he was like as a lad and as a player. He's been outstanding."

  18. 'Pressure is a privilege'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Everton

    .

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, speaking to Sky Sports.

On what it means to Everton's main forward: "Everything.

"Everything I have worked for and it is where I want to be - pressure is a privilege, It's my responsibility to carry that.

"It is extra special local derby I have been here long enough to know what it means to the fans.

"Where we are in the league it is a massive three points everything come together tonight.

"It was electric and I felt it at the end. It was extra special to do that on a nigh like this is a great memory - something we will look to kick on from."

  19. 'Liverpool have to keep believing'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Clinton Morrison

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool have to keep believing, but Arsenal look like they are flying and then you have Man City at Brighton tomorrow night.

  20. 'We have no chance to consider ourselves in the title race'

    FT: Everton 2-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

    .

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, speaking to Sky Sports: "Listen, very disappointed in so many ways. Everyone has to look in the mirror and look at their own performance and think if they gave everything.

"Do they really want to win the league? If you play like this overall in the game and not win any challenges and give the referee an opportunity to give a free-kick away then we have no chance to win the title.

"It is a tough one and obviously we have to do better against a side near the relegation it is time to focus.

"Eventually we were not good enough and we all have to do much better. We have to do much better in every sense it is a tough one to take.

"We are in a situation as we have bene consistent all season and players who have come in and contributed - we have to do much better."

On being outplayed by Everton: "These games are always a big fight and something that we shouldn't have lost in my opinion,

"But. we did now we have to pick ourselves up and be ready for an early kick-off Saturday."

On title race: "If you play like today we have no chance to consider ourselves in the title race."
