Longhorns linebacker Jake Ehlinger found dead in Austin

University of Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger was found dead in Austin Thursday,

Police were called to an off-campus address and found the body of Ehlinger — the younger brother of former Texas quarterback and recent Indianapolis Colts draft pick Sam Ehlinger — shortly after noon, Longhorns publication Hook ‘Em reported.

The circumstances around his death were not immediately clear, but authorities said they don’t consider it suspicious, according to the outlet.

Jake Ehlinger joined the team in 2019 as a walk-on, Hook ‘Em reported. He had yet to play a game for the Longhorns.

He was studying at UT’s McCombs School of Business, according to his Twitter account.

On Saturday, Jake’s photo was accidentally shown on the NFL Network when his brother was drafted, according to the report.

“Good, good,” a jovial Sam told reporters later, the article said. “Jake deserves all the screen time you can get.”
