Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott has now earned more than a former Masters champion and Ryder Cup star this season after helping the American win AGAIN at Augusta National

  • Scottie Scheffler's caddie has earned a fortune this year because of their wins
  • It means he's earned more than PGA Tour stars Viktor Hovland and Rickie Fowler
  • The result added to Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott's earnings from the partnership

Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott enjoyed another major windfall on Sunday when the American slipped on his second Green Jacket after winning The Masters.

In doing so, Scheffler scooped the record $3.5million (£2.8m) prize fund and took his remarkable season to another level.

The World No. 1 finished on 11-under par for the tournament at Augusta National after a superb four-under par round on Sunday.

Scott has been carrying Scheffler's bag since 2022 and has been front and center of the American's explosive rise to becoming the dominant force in golf.

According to Forbes, Scheffler has already raked in just over $15m (£12m) in prize money through nine tournaments this season.

The 50-year-old is expected to have received a 10 per cent cut of the record £2.8million prize

The 27-year-old has won both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship as well, two big tournaments to go alongside his Masters triumph.

Scott is also expected to have secured incredible earnings as a consequence, with the custom for players to pay their caddies 10 per cent of any prize money.

Should Scheffler follow the custom, Scott would have earned a cool $1.5m (£1.2m) this year.

Scott's earnings would place the caddie in the top 50 golfers on the PGA Tour for prize money this season.

That means he has taken home more than golf stars like Sungjae Im ($1,312,397), former Masters winner Adam Scott ($1,087,498), Joel Dahmen ($684,659) and Europe's Ryder Cup star Viktor Hovland ($653,025).

Rickie Fowler ($504,282), Zach Johnson ($171,178) and Matt Kuchar ($91,276) are also below Scott in terms of earnings for the 2024 season.

In fact, Scheffler is performing so well that Scott sits a mere $100,000 off Rory McIlroy's total of $1,608,505 in prize money.

The caddie will have also earned considerable sums in previous seasons with Scheffler, who has topped the PGA Tour prize money list for the last two years.

He earned a record $14m (£11.2m) in the 2021-22 season - a figure he has already surpassed this year - before earning $21m (£16.8m) on the 2022-23 tour.

With Scheffler having banked $50m (£40m) in recent seasons, Scott would have taken home an estimated $5m (£4m) in prize money alone.

Scott is a 25-year veteran on the PGA Tour, having previously caddied for former Masters champion Bubba Watson.

He reportedly initially needed some convincing before agreeing to caddie for Scheffler.

Scott now has four wins as a caddie at the Masters, just one behind the tournament record

'Teddy and Scottie talked for quite awhile before they went to work for him,' fellow caddie and friend Paul Tesori said, via Golf Digest.

'Scottie's young and has had a bit of a habit of getting a little angry on the golf course, and maybe even a little angry toward his caddie.

'Ted being a veteran, almost 50 years old, being out here for so long, he was able to say: "I want to come work for you, but you have got to promise me that you're going to work on these areas." And not only did Scottie say yes, he has absolutely done it.'

Scott now has four wins as a caddie at the Masters, after Watson's triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

He is one behind the record held by Willie Stokes and Willie Peterson, while he is level with Nathaniel Avery and Steve Williams.
