A California driver was caught driving in the carpool lane with a creepy, realistic dummy in his front seat Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol's Santa Fe Springs office shared a hilarious photo of the plastic passenger, sporting a black hoodie with a pair of sunglasses.

'Officer Kaplan made an enforcement stop on this vehicle for crossing solid double lines only to realize the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle with their plastic friend,' the CHP wrote.

'The goatee was sharp … just a little too sharp,' officers wrote of the bearded dummy buckled in the passenger seat.

The Instagram post garnered overwhelming reactions from social media users, with many pointing out its seeming resemblance to rapper Snoop Dogg and singer Stevie Wonder.

'Snoop, is that you!!!!!' one user wrote in the comment section while another said: 'Leave Stevie wonder alone Lol.'

The human driver in the vehicle was subsequently issued a citation for multiple carpool violations, according to the CHP.

Officers said they have been asked: 'If I have a mannequin in the passenger seat, does that count as a second occupant in the vehicle? Trying to use the carpool lane with no one else in the car!'

'The answer is simple… NO,' the CHP wrote in the Instagram post.

'Like this motorist found out; we've gotta give it to them, the appearance is next level modeling but at the end of the day… plastic is plastic.'

Concluding the post, the office did not forget to leave a few tips for drivers to avoid traffic and violations.

'Remember to plan ahead, know your route of travel, and the general challenges of your drive to avoid being in a rush or tempted to push your luck,' they wrote.

'I mean imagine all the times he was able to get away with it, all the time he saved by not sitting in traffic. It's worth the ticket 100x over,' one user said.

Another person joked: 'I really don’t see a problem here because most people are fake and have lots of plastic on them anyways.'

'He looks pretty real. Better than just a skeleton with a hat on. I would have let him go for his creative idea,' another user said.
